What is a
Secure Virtual Private Network
(VPN)?
A Secure Virtual
Private Network is a connection between network nodes that use a form
of protocol security for use over public network facilities such as
the INTERNET. INTERNET network connections are typically open
TCP/UDP using IP protocol that can be encrypted using standards based
methods so that users can "privatize" sensitive information of a
non-public nature. Teleprime offers advanced Secure VPN products
such as the Bandit and VSR series routers and gateways. Users
that are currently using private dial up or leased line facilities now
have an economical alternative by using secure VPN over the INTERNET.
The Bandit and VSR series products use industry standard IPSec
encryption and proprietary Selective Layer Encryption (SLE) for
satellite links that are subject to unacceptable processing delays of
IPSec. Applications for data networks using legacy protocols
such as BiSync (BiSync 3780 or 2780), X.21 or X.25 or Async such as
RS232C can be supported. In addition to IP connections over
broadband such as Ethernet or T1 / E1 and satellite, wireless GSM or
CDMA network access are supported for remote terminal and access
applications. Teleprime now offers low cost secure VPN
routers and VPN gateways that scale from one serial to multiple serial
and ethernet ports. .
