What is a
Signaling
Gateway?
A
Signaling Gateway
is a device that
enables connectivity between different signaling networks by resolving signaling differences
between legacy switches
and new network equipment (such as VoIP Gateways). Signaling Networks may use standardized signaling
gateway protocols like SS7, C7, C5, DTMF, R1,
R2, ISDN, and other CAS or CCS based signaling protocols. The
Signaling Gateway usually is installed between the legacy network
signaling node and new network equipment such as a VoIP Gateway. For VoIP carrier services
signaling
applications, Teleprime's Signaling Gateway products bridge between WAN based VoIP
Gateway ports and SS7 or C7 signaling based TDM circuit switched
networks.
